Environmental Pollution: Causes, Effects and Solutions, Ambik

Press, Benin City.
The purpose of this book is to examine and highlight some pollutional
and environmental issues currently prevalent in our communities, our
society and the country and to suggest ways of addressing them and
dealing with them. It has a wide and varied coverage and looks at issues
including natural pollutants, pollutional aspects of flooding, pollution from
agriculture, wastewater and air pollution, environmental issues in
petroleum exploration, drilling wastes, gas flaring, pollution from
vehicles, through solid wastes, from mechanical workshops, from
manufacturing, and from electrical power generation. Oil pollution from
refineries, city-wide pollution management, seismic hazards and optimal
amount of pollution are also covered. It is primarily aimed at penultimate
and final year engineering undergraduates, although other fields might
find it stimulating and useful. Postgraduate students especially in civil,
petroleum, chemical, electrical, mechanical and production engineering
should also find it extremely useful.
