China Circulating fluidized bed (CFB) technology development

The circulating fluidized bed (CFB) coal-fired boiler has being rapidly developed in China since
1980s and becomes a key clean coal technology used in thermal and power generation.
Circulating fluidized bed (CFB) technology has gained a great progress in coal-firing boilers since
the successful operation of the worlds first demonstration of circulating fluidized bed (CFB)
boiler in Germany. The largest CFB boiler, a supercritical unit with capacity of 460MWe made by
Foster Wheeler Corporation, is under construction in Lagisza, Poland. In China, the number of
commercial CFB boilers that have been put into operation is over 800, among which the units with
capacity 100-150MWe are near 30. The first 300MWe CFB boiler is in construction.
With CFB technology, the circulating bed material flows together with flue gas through the
furnace, after which it is separated from the gas and returned back to the lower part of the furnace
with cyclones. This technology provides an even combustion temperature profile, which is optimal
for handling a wide variety of fuel properties, such as heating value, moisture, ash content and a
number of low melting point ash components. This also ensures low primary emissions with high
combustion efficiency and an excellent utilization of additives for sulphur removal and other
special purposes.
Studies on CFB boilers have being conducted at the Tsinghua University (TH), Beijing, China
since 1985, in both fundamental research and commercial development. A series of CFB boilers
with capacities ranging from 20t/h to 460t/h have been put into commercial operation and some
other units with larger capacities and higher steam parameters are under design or feasibility study
, based THs research and development (R&D) achievements.
DHX is an advanced CFB boiler developed by ZG boiler. It combines high-efficiency combustion
of various solid fuels with low emissions.
DHX CFB boilers offer ideal combustion technology for:
Coals and other solid fossil fuels
Recovered fuels
Biomasses, including fuels derived from agricultural waste streams
Any combination of the above-mentioned fuels
We aim at lowering your costs, adding profitability and constantly coming up with new service
solutions. Since 1986, ZG began to produce CFB boiler. Within 5 years, we have 200 clients in the
world. If you want to know more about ZG CFB boiler, contact us please.
