Student Playing Exam Rubric

Level 5 Position is correct.


All of the notes are correct.
Each note is held the correct number of beats.
Steady beat is evident.
Level 4 -

One of the above is not happening, or a combination of two are not consistent.

Level 3 -

Two of the above are not happening, or a combination of three are not
consistent.

Level 2 -

Three of the above are not happening, or a combination of all four are not
consistent.

Level 1 -

Four of the above are not happening, but student attempted to play.

You must get a 3 or better on the playing exam to earn your belt.
Level 5 = Exceeds Standard (Earns a 4)
Level 4 = Meets Standard (Earns a 3*)
Level 3 = Meets Standard (Earns a 3)
Level 2 = Partially Meets Standard (Earns a 2)
Level 1 = Does not Meet Standard (Earns a 1)
If you do not pass your belt this time, you may re-test on another day. You may not re-test on
the same day!
