Am I in the right room?

o Dont worry, youll know. Itll be the classroom with all the artwork on
the walls. I will also post a roster for the classroom outside the door
look for your name on the roster. If you happen to notice algebraic
equations, or the periodic table, youre probably in the wrong place!

Where am I supposed to sit?

o There will be a label at each desk with the name of the student assigned
to each seat. Look every day, because I may change the seating.

What are the rules of the classroom?

o You will be given a handout of the rules of this class on the first day.
This will come with both a student and parent acknowledgement that
will have to be returned signed by the end of the first week. I will also
email a copy of these rules to your parents.

What will I be doing this year?

o Be prepared to think creatively as you will be creating many artworks
using different mediums throughout the year. The exact specifications
of these works will be explained in the classroom syllabus given the first
day of class.

How will I be graded?

o There will be three (equally-graded) aspects of each project:
Participation, Effort, and Final Product.

Who is the teacher as a person?

o I have a Bachelors of Fine Arts with a Concentration in Photography,
and an Associates in Electronic Graphics (specifically, 3D Animation). I
worked for twelve years in a fine art Bronze Casting Facility. I have also
worked in freelance photography including weddings, art exhibits, and
more. We will learn more about each other throughout the semester.

Will the teacher treat me as a human being?

o Simply put, of course! The great thing about Art is that it is all about
free expression (within the confines of school policy!). All students are
valued for their creative thinking, and you are not only expected but
encouraged to demonstrate your humanity.
