Clients background

His name is Saiful b. Bahari (not real name). He is 10 years old. He is

studying in Year 4 Cemerlang. I had studied about him for my assignment. He is
considered from poor family background. His father is working as a labour in a
company and his mother is a housewife. He has five siblings and he is the third child.
His other siblings are still studying.His mother is taking care of her small sister in the
house.
In addition, he brought only 50 cent for his breakfast. His parents can only
give that amount of money and sometimes he will bring food from his house. He is
short and in moderate size. Since I started to watch him, I have not seen him talking
loud and be active. He always be passive most of the time. I have asked a few
teachers about him and they are giving the same feedback that he likes to be
passive

Problem identified
Saiful is my subject for my case study. He is very passive during teaching and
learning process is carried out. The feedbacks not only come from my observation,
including other teachers who are teaching 4 Cemerlang class. He showed the same
reaction throughout the lesson. He just do the work given and most of the time he did
them wrongly. Therefore, I cannot measure his understanding my lesson. When I go
and approach him during the teaching and learning period but he gave very minimal
responses. I am really worried for him and his future.
I thought maybe I am the one who is not giving chances for him to speak. So,
I planned to call him and make him engage to the lesson but he still giving the same
responses. I also quite confused with his problem. Besides that, I do not the real
reasons why he is behaving like this. His friends also saying the same thing that he
will behave same for all the lesson and be passive with his friends too. He will not
throw any question, answers, suggestions or even opinion too. He just follow
whatever the group leader or the teacher even though he do not understand them.
Sometimes he do not know how to do the works given by the teachers but he still do
the in wrong way without asking anything to others.
I am really sympathy and empathy with his situation. I do not know what his
problems to be passive in the school are? I planned to do a counseling session with
him to find the core of this problem and solve it as soon as possible for the boys
future.
