The immune system reacts

to a pathogen by stomach
acidity, earwax and
urination. In addition,
fever helps in destroying
microbes as well as the
functions of B & T cells

The different pieces of the
immune system work
together by using the
antibodies of the immune
system that responds to
antigens. A person
becomes immune after
exposure to an antigen and
the memory cell
lymphocytes code for it or
remember it to protect that
individual from any future
exposure (952).

The difference between a
primary and secondary
immune response are that
in a secondary response to
the same antigen, memory
cells are rapidly activated.
This process is quicker and

more effective than the
primary response (1).

Immunizations work by
preventing disease and
improving community
health.
The difference between
active and passive
immunity in regard to
immunization is active
immunity is when a person
is exposed to a disease
organism and makes
his/her own antibodies.
This is considered
permanent. Passive
immunity is when a person
is given antibodies to a
disease. This is considered
temporary (502).

The benefits of
immunizations are
screening for
contraindications but the
risks are side effects from
the vaccine.

In my opinion, children
should be immunized to
save their life. In addition,
it can save the family time
and money by taking these
preventative measures.
Vaccination is safe,
effective and protects
future generations.
