Winthrop University REU: Bridging Applied and Theoretical Mathematics (Rock Hill, SC) 5-8/2014

A nine week research experience in mathematical biology. Researched with the full-time support of a faculty
research mentor, and transition to graduate style mathematics research. The program included professional
development seminars, mathematical colloquiums, and opportunities to engage with multi-disciplinary
groups of students participating in research experiences on campus.
Specifically researched the effects of cancer stem cells on Glioblastoma multiform a form a brain cancer using
differential equations.
Presenting work at the Joint Mathematics Meeting in San Antonio, TX in January 2015.

Denver Zoo Gift Shop (Denver, Colorado) Retail/Barista, 04/2007 12/2013

Maintain a positive environment within the shop by making sure guests are greeted, checked up on, as well
as thanked as they leave the store.
Build relationships with guests to help them find what best fits their souvenir needs.

YMCA Camp Huckins (Freedom, NH) Camp Counselor 6-8/2010-12

Coordinated activities and supervised twelve 9 10 year old girls in a traditional overnight camp
setting on Lake Ossipee, NH. Responsible for well-being of the girls, as well as leading sports in a
variety of activities including soccer, basketball, archery, lacrosse, ropes course, and tennis.

Maintained professional relationship with other counselors and supervisors of both the age group
and activity area, resolved conflict between campers when possible, and reported problems to
supervisor when necessary.

LEADERSHIP
CORE Team Co-Leader (Loras College) 2012-Present

CORE team is a servant leadership team comprised of approximately 12 students who represent
different student organizations across campus. The goal of CORE team is to help maintain the
spiritual wellbeing of campus by providing discussions, community meals, and non-threatening
activities to reach all types of students on campus.

Antioch Retreat Leader (Loras College) 8/2014-Present

Antioch is a retreat for college students to grow in faith and community. The weekend includes
testimonies, small group discussions, reconciliation, adoration, mass, and a celebration with the
larger Antioch community. Responsible for picking a team of students to lead the retreat,
recruiting candidates, and acting as the emcee/time keeper on retreat.

School Mentor (St. Thomas More Catholic Church) 2007 2011

Help to plan and execute youth group nights for around 50 6th graders, which included leading
games, giving testimonies, and facilitating a small group (6-8 kids) in faith discussion and building
personal relationships within the group.

High School Core Team (St. Thomas More Catholic Church) 2009 2011

Helped to plan high school ministry events and lead small group discussion at weekly youth group
nights. Served on a 6 retreat teams, the last retreat I was in charge of the food for 75+ students
including planning the menu, shopping, and food preparation while on retreat.
