Educational Leadership and Postsecondary Education March 3, 2015 To Whom It May Concern: | am pleased to write this reference letter for Jessica Hector. She is my student and advisee in the principal program at the University of Northern lowa. My first encounter with Ms. Hector was in the Fall, of 2013 asa new student in the principal program. Ms. Hector radiates a passion for people, leading and learning. Her attention to others as demonstrated through her excellent listening skills sends the strong message that she is interested, cares and respectful. Ms. Hector continuously reflects on what effective leaders need to know and be able to do. She must have acute observation skills because she can describe in detail specific examples of leadership she has experienced, Likewise, she can easily share her own vast leadership experiences as a teacher and coach, Her passion for learning is revealed in all of the professional learning opportunities she has pursued during her career. Likewise, | can tell she has completed the reading or assignments with fence and much thought through her contributions to class discussions, | marvel at Ms. Hector’s ability to balance a very busy professional life with family life and also graduate school. This tells me she knows how to establish priorities and organize her time and attention. She is a well-respected member of her cohort and many of her cohort members seek out her wisdom and insight. | am sure Ms. Hector’s focused energy, collaborative spirit, common sense and commitment to learning will serve her well in any leadership capacity. As a former principal, | would have been thrilled to have her serve on my leadership team as a SAM, dean of students, instructional coach, lead teacher or assistant principal. | would also feel comfortable recommending Ms. Hector for a head principal position as a result of her completion of over 425 supervised internship hours over the past two years. Please feel free to call me for additional positive comments. Sincerely, Victoria L. Robinson, Ed.D. "SON Souler boucaton Ce Talal Tova S0OTPO » Prone SID LTS IONS + Fax SIDTTSSITS
