Learning outcomes of the course unit:
The goal of the subject is the characteristics of technical infrastructure -- solid waste
management in urban areas. Definition, determination and safety functions of
equipment for recollecting, sorting, treatment, processing and waste disposal. The
subject is aimed at building demands and arrangements.

Course Contents:
Waste legislation. Basic terminology. Waste management strategy. Waste
management programs.
Quantity and composition of waste. Logistics of waste collecting.
Building waste.
The options of waste disposal, sanitary landfilling, burning.
Mechanic-biological treatment of waste.
Old vehicles disposal.
Factories for processing and disposal of waste. Physical and chemical methods of
waste treatment.
Prerequisite for recycling.
