OBJECTIVES:
Voice of Palo aims to empower the youth of Palo by providing an
avenue for the development of moral and psychological well being through
music and to foster solidarity among them.
Specifically it aims to:
a. Develop and enhance the vocal skills and talents of the
youth of Palo;
b. Preserve the culture of music in the municipality of Palo.
RATIONALE:
Voice of Palo came about as a means of somehow lessening the
trauma experienced by the survivors of Super Typhoon Yolanda to
maintain their emotional and psychological well being. Part of the
municipalitys recovery and rehabilitation efforts was the utilization of the
arts as a means to achieve this end. Being known to be music loving
people, Palo boasts of its rich musical past. Testament to this is existence
of different musical groups which not only provides quality music but also
one which Palo can be proud of. The Voice of Palo will be exclusive for
residents of Palo only. This is one way of highlighting the talents of the
youth of Palo in order for them to be at par with their counterparts in the
different parts of the country.
METHODOLOGY:
The VOICE OF PALO will be patterned to the Leyte IDOL Search which
is composed of four (4) stages, to wit: 1) Auditions; 2) Elimination Round;
3) Semi-final Round; and Finals. This will be a singing competition
exclusive to residents of Palo only. Letters will be distributed to the

Auditions
A team of coaches will go to the thirty-three (33) Barangays of Palo
to conduct an audition to search for talented young singers who have
what it takes to become the VOICE OF PALO.
An applicant for audition will be asked to fill up a registration form
attached therewith is a) a recommendation from his/her Punong Barangay,
and b) a photocopy of his/her birth certificate but the original must be
brought for authentication purposes. He/She must prepare an audition
piece which will be sang in accappella. Those who will pass auditions will
move on to the next level of competition, the Elimination Round.
Elimination Round
Qualifiers from the barangay level will compete with each other for
___ Sundays. The eliminations will be done at the Palo Public Plaza. Those
who will make it will move to the Semi-Final Round.
Semi-Final Round
During this round, semi-finalists will be assigned a particular genre
for their Sunday performance. They will be asked to submit their chosen
piece five (5) days before their performance.
