Why has this situation arisen?
It was a fundamental economic change where England changed from mostly agricultural to
mostly industrial. Britain was the first country in the world to experience the revolution due to
their education, their modern work attitudes, and a modern government.
So what?
What impact have they had on the
modern world?
It improved the standard of living for workers, food and health care became easier to access
resulting in an increase in life expectancy and mortality rates to decline. The revolution also saw
to education becoming compulsory for children which lead to high literacy levels. It brought
about increase in population, and voting rights. Although the revolution has a lot of positive
impacts it has caused a drastic increase in pollution, and also a large gap between rich and poor.
