Mouse Control Using A Web Camera Based On Color Detection: Abstract

This project report describes a mouse control system using color detection with a web camera. The system allows for control of mouse cursor movement and clicks based on hand gestures detected by the camera. Specifically, the report presents an approach for human computer interaction where finger tracking is used to design and implement a virtual mouse application using a regular webcam without needing a physical mouse. The goal is to create an object tracking application to interact with the computer through development of a virtual human computer interaction device.

Mouse Control using a Web Camera based on Color Detection


ABSTRACT-

In this project we present an approach for Human


computer Interaction (HCI), in this study finger tracking
based a virtual mouse application has been designed and
implemented using a regular webcam. The motivation
was to create an object tracking application to interact
with the computer, and develop a virtual human computer
interaction device, where we have tried to control the
mouse cursor movement and click events of the mouse
using hand gestures. Hand gestures were acquired using a
camera based on color detection technique. This method
mainly focuses on the use of a Web Camera to develop a
virtual human computer interaction.
