During the first trimester of science we have learned about Earthquakes,

Epicenter, Plate Tectonics the way they move, convergent, divergent, and
transform. We also learned about Natural Disasters like Tsunami, Volcanoes, and
also about Chemical, Physical Weathering and Abrasion. We also learned to
measure the Intensity of earthquakes with Mercalli Scale. For me, some ideas or
activities that i found interesting from the first trimester of Science were leaning to
measure the intensity of the earthquake, we use the Mercalli scale to measure the
Intensity of earthquake to find out how high or low is the intensity of the
earthquake. I found these activities interesting because it was fun learning about
new thing and about earthquakes because we should know more about the natural
disaster so we can understand and help out in emergencies. So far in science class,
one of my strenght is measuring the intensity because i have learned it and i was
really interested in that so that;s one of my strength i do a really good job finding
intensity. One area i have made improvements in is reading the Reference Tables
and i plan to continue to improve in this area by reading it more and more so i can
understand it much better and using it more often so i can read it better.
During this trimester i did the Natural Disaster project on Japan Tsunami and
i was required to include and explain any charts or maps associated with out event,
include before and after pictures of the event, the kind of damage occur, tell the
magnitude of earthquake, warnings before the event, preparations people make,
include video and a work cited page. I did this project by researching on my
project the Japan Tsunami, when was it, how did it occur, what happened, how
many people died, the damage and if government helped the people or damage. By
doing this project i learned about the Natural Disaster such as the Tsunami in Japan
which destroyed everything and a lot of people died a lot of damage was caused by
the tsunami. Doing this project helped me to get better at the skills of researching
on projects finding reliable websites, finding pictures, people opinion on the
damage and peoples point of view but mostly about that id the research and
information is reliable.
