Q: Your name, what you teach, and why did you become a teacher?

Think About:

In a recent meta-analysis of more than 100 studies (Marzano, 2003b), we found that the
quality of teacher-student relationships is the keystone for all other aspects of classroom
management. In fact, our meta-analysis indicates that on average, teachers who had highquality relationships with their students had 31 percent fewer discipline problems, rule
violations, and related problems over a year's time than did teachers who did not have
high-quality relationships with their students.

What: A system to recognize, celebrate, and encourage positive behaviors

and student skills to build and strengthen every students Learning,

Leadership, and Service.

Why: To positively connect students to staff and LSE to reinforce positive

reproducible behaviors (PRIDE)

How: Recognize positive behaviors that we want to reinforce

Who: students & staff


Things to think about as we move forward:



What are we going to call our token/ticket?

What are the recognition tokens/tickets going to look like? (ex: cards)

What will the system look like/operate (Daily, Monthly, Semester, Random)

How will LSE implement it (how to teach staff and students what it looks)

Whats our objective/goal for students?

How will we collect data (Google docs)

What will we do with the data?

How will we reinforce the tokens/tickets (what can students earn)

What else do we want to connect with (PRIDE & living above the line)
