Discipline Policy

To create my philosophy of classroom management I will use some key concepts I

learn from the reading of Kohn book. As a teacher, I will be a facilitator of learning,
by providing a safe and comfortable environment. I will work with the students to
solve the problems that might arise in the classroom. I will engage the students in
discussion and allow them to come together to reflect. In order to accomplish this
enormous task, and to become a facilitator of learning, I will allow my students to
have input in part of the rules that do not have to do with others safety and rights. I
will allow students to help me reach a clear understanding of what would be consider
an appropriate class behavior and conduct. To prevent any misunderstandings, the
rules established by the school administration are to be follow. No bullying of any
form of shape is tolerated. Expectations for each student and the classroom will be
clearly stated, and I will also assure that the flow of the classroom is continuous. I
will assure that my lessons include extra activities in the case that we have free time,
ensuring that the flow of the classroom will be continuous. I reserve the right to create
a sitting chart if a consistent interruption of class period is created by student
conduct. I will give warnings for minor infraction, but if the infraction is concerning a
school wide policy the appropriate action will be taken. I will use music to signal
students that private or group work is over, and that attention needs to be given to the
teacher in front of the class. Students will help write the expectations of the classroom
in case a substitute teacher is in charge of the classroom when I am not there, and
they will also help decide the consequences of breaking those expectations. A clear
and direct class procedure will ensure that the students enjoy a comfortable learning
environment, and it will facilitate their learning by ensuring that it is follow
