Itall started with the convocation of the SVNIT 2011 batch in January t gave a chance to all the pass-outs to meet up with thelr ‘batchies’and relive their college life for a brief 3 days. The juniors were the happiest during ths time as everyone got big treats from their seniors who all ave 5 digit bank balances now (a myth during ther college days). Tis was closely followed by MMINCT, the annual Inter hostel night cricket tournament. This edition saw the 3rd years stamp- Ing their authority over the sport with an all 3d year final which saw H8 ‘emerging vietorlous. Then came the big one-Sparsh 2012! Though the day time events were lack uste, the nights made up for It. KK with a power- packed performance mde SUNIT dance tohis tunes! For the fst time in our college life, we got to watch a big levélspors fest-IGNIS 2012, With the sup- port of SAC, our college organized this 4 day extravaganza attended By ur theme for tis issue Is Media. This is probably not the best moment in ‘our country’ history. We have a Government so weak that tfllsto find sup- port even from its all's, brimming with corruption charges and facing ‘strong opposition from all the states. Our economy is in despair with the present growth rate at 6.9% and no signs of it bouncing back in the near future. The promise of outperforming China at the world level is now slowly fading. Our sports teams aren't doing great either. The National cricket team, is currently the laughing stock of the sport. Now more than ever before, we need the media to carry out its responsibilities properly.
