3 in 5 people have an obsession making it one of the most popular mental


affliction, with as many as 9/10 people referring to it as a bona fide mental
illness. With obsessions becoming such common culture, theres been an
increase of TV shows on the topic since 2013 with Obsessive Compulsive
Cleaners showing the clear popularity in contemporary culture with a 7/10 rating.
Obsessions have become 6.5% more commonly heard of since 2010 with many
linking to the creation of the boy band One Direction, with 75% of people voting
them as the best boy band ever in a recent poll. Music in general is a vastly
popular obsession, only being beaten by mobile phones with 56% of people
claiming they couldnt go more than two hours without their mobile.
