a. Is the country over populated? What regions are experiencing the largest effects
of overpopulation? : Indonesia is not necessarily over populated, but if it continues
to grow it will definitely be. Right now Indonesia is about the fourth most populated
country. Java is the most populated island.
b. Is the country pro or anti-natalist? : More pro natalist
c. Chose two of the statistics above and discuss what is being done to improve
them:
-Life expectancy: The main thing being done is just the improvement of health and
nutrition conditions.
-Mortality rate: The main thing being done about reducing mortality rate in
Indonesia is trying to scale up specific health interventions. Others believe that
strengthening the overall health system is a way to help with this. The last group
mainly believes that the overall economic development is more important than
specific interventions.
d. Find two current event articles that identify the most serious population induced
problems facing the country:

http://www.who.int/bulletin/volumes/88/9/10-082073/en/
e. Does your country have net in-migration or net out-migration? Why? Where are
they going to or coming from? : They are a net out migration because they have
more people leaving than migrating into the country. Many Indonesian workers
leave their families and villages to work in the cities and they migrate out.
