Nordic States B

United States gender equality

24 percent of companies in the US have
CEOs that are females.
During the great recession from 20072010, the work force was laying off
more men than women
59 percent of women took up low
paying jobs that had an annual income
averaging around $27,000
More women hold part time jobs or stay
at home due to the need to have
someone doing housework. Then men
are mainly known to work out of the two
while the female stays home and care
for the rest of the family.

Nordic States gender equality

Only 8 out of 269 companies in Nordic
States have women as CEOs.
Men and women work at the same jobs
and are cut equally when a crisis occurs.
Women living in the Nordic States make
an average of 15 percent less income
then men in the same jobs
Men only take responsibility for one
third of necessary household activities
and the women take care of the other
two thirds of the household
responsibilities.
Most women in the Nordic States cant
find full
time jobs due to the amount of time
they need to take care of their homes
and family members at home

There are many similarities between the US and the Nordic States because women
are mainly known to take on the role of the housekeeper. Also, they are very similar
because women receive less money than men even though they are doing the same
amount of work and have the same education. Even though these are inequalities,
this is how it has been for many years and both areas are trying to make progress in
improving the equality between men and women. In the end, both countries have a
lot of equality between men and women but they also have a few inequalities as
well that they are slowly trying to get rid of.
