Advising/Registration for

Fall 2015!
Everything You Need to Know!
REMINDER: Monday, April 13, 2015 is the last day to
withdraw from a class with a W on your transcript.
You will need your instructor, adviser and deans office signatures on an add/drop form, in order
to officially drop a class.

DATES AND HOLDS:

Registration for undergraduate Fall 2015 classes will take place by designated time,
(depending on how many credits a student has completed), starting Monday, April 20,
2015.
Students with HOLDS must have them cleared prior to their registration date.

HOW TO FIND YOUR ADVISER & REGISTRATION TIME:

Log in to myUSF, under Self Service, click on the box that says Student, in order to see if
you have any HOLDS that you will need to take care of, before your early registration time.

College of Arts and Sciences and Nursing majors: Please make an advising appointment with
your faculty adviser, as soon as possible, in order to remove your advising hold.

School of Management majors, please attend the McLaren FARE on April 7 & 8, 2015, Madonna
Lounge (Malloy Hall Lobby), (10am 1pm), to remove your advising hold (first semester
Freshman, all transfer, and Hospitality students have advising holds). NOTE: Students in Bus
100 (Launch into Business) will be able to get your advising hold cleared after an advising
presentation in class on Wednesday, April 8, 2015. You may also meet with an Academic
Success Coach in CASA, UC 3rd Floor, if you need assistance.

How to find both your registration time and faculty adviser name:
1. Go to www.usfca.edu and sign in to myUSF
3. Under Student Self Service, click on the box that says Student
5. Click on the Registration link
6. Click on the Registration Status & Adviser Information link
7. Select the term Fall 2015 and click submit
8. Your REGISTRATION TIME is at the top and your ADVISER should be listed halfway
down the page

IF YOU DONT HAVE A MAJOR ADVISER LISTED:


You need to go to your majors department office and ask them to assign you a faculty
adviser, or go to the Center for Academic and Student Achievement (CASA), UC 3 rd
Floor for assistance.

UNDECLARED OR EXPLORING YOUR MAJOR OPTIONS?:

You can visit the Exploratory Student Portal: www.tinyurl.com/USFCAExplore for more
information/resources.
You can go to Center for Academic and Student Achievement (CASA), UC 3rd Floor to
make an appointment with an Academic Success Coach to explore your major/minor
options. If you are thinking about declaring a major, you can also go directly to the
major/dept. program office to find-out more about the major.

College of Arts & Sciences Undeclared students are assigned faculty advisers who you
must see to remove your advising hold.

HOW TO MAKE AN APPT. WITH YOUR FACULTY ADVISER:

You will need to make an appt. to meet with a faculty adviser, in order to remove your
advising hold. You can email your faculty adviser by clicking on the link next to their
name on myUSF, or you can go to your major dept. office to find-out the best way to
sign-up for an advising appt.

Please be sure to complete a DRAFT schedule of your Fall 2015 classes, before you
meet with your faculty adviser. Here is a link to the schedule of classes:

HOW TO DECLARE, (OR CHANGE), A MAJOR/MINOR:

Go to your major/minor/program department office.


Get approval and advising from your new major/minor/ program dept. chair, (remember
to ask when you will be assigned to a faculty adviser in the major).

Going to the McLaren F.A.R.E. is a great opportunity to speak with Faculty
Advisers to assist you with Fall 2015 course selection for your major and to
learn more about various majors within the School of Management.
