Runners Prison
Through the country my legs lead my tired figure
My will to move is stronger than the pain.
She eats away at my hearts desire
To move through her is only means to gain.
By doing so I become united.
My burning heart fuels my bodys need,
To move forward swiftly pain is disinvited
Pumping faster, now faster I am speed.
As pain struggles to keep up with the pace,
My legs stride through the runners with great ease.
I hear a bizarre voice shout run your race!
Bolting to the line powered by a breeze.
I cross the finish line escaping pains prison,
Knowing that a new athlete in me has risen.
