Sharing experience in applying for the HKSAR No Criminal Conviction Certificate:

Background:
Applicant is employed by a HK company and seconded to its subsidiary Vietnamese company, employment contract with the HK company and
Labor Contract with Vietnamese company are available.

HK employer writes the letter to Vietnamese Consulate in Hong Kong requesting to issue a letter to the Hong Kong Police Force for a No
Criminal Conviction Certificate for the purpose of the application for Work Permit in Vietnam

After getting the letter from the Vietnam Consulate, applicant will go to the Headquarter of HK Police Force at Wanchai to fill in some
Forms and then get the fingerprint

The No Criminal Conviction Certificate (in English) will be sent to the Vietnamese Consulate in HK. The Vietnamese Certificate will be
translated and notarized by the Vietnamese Consulate in Hong Kong, as Vietnamese copy for the application for Work Permit is
necessary

Key points:
1. The HK Police will only issue a No Criminal Conviction Certificate to a HK resident upon the request of a Vietnamese Government
Department.
2. At the moment, Labor Department or Immigration Department in Vietnam will not issue such a letter to the HK Police. It appears that
it needs to go through the Vietnamese Consulate in HK.
