Course grades will be based on the following proportions

The lowest quiz and homework will be dropped.


Textbook:

Moran, Shapiro, Boettner, Bailery. Principles of Engineering


Thermodynamics, 7th ed., SI Version, John Wiley & Sons, 2012.

Homework: A set of homework will be given on every other Tuesday, due on the next
Tuesday in class. No late homework will be accepted. Check e-course
website regularly for homework assignments, homework solutions, and
quizzes solutions.
Quizzes

30-mintue quizzes will be given on every other Thursday. The quizzes are
closed book/closed notes (with some exceptions), and usually simple
problems based on recent lectures and/or homework. Use the quizzes as a
gauge of your understanding of the material. No make-ups for missed
quizzes for any reason.

Exam:

The midterm exam I will be given on March 27 in class. The midterm exam
II will be given on May 8 in class. The exams will be closed books and
notes. The final exam will be given on June 17 (tentative).
