There are two major kinds of Intervals - MELODIC [successive tones - melody] and HARMONIC
[two tones which occur simultaneously - chords].
Intervals are either - Major, Minor, or Perfect.
Major and Perfect intervals become Augmented when increased by 1/2 Step.
Minor and Perfect intervals become Diminished when decreased by 1/2 Step.
