students.ItisthesisterbranchofthreebranchesinUKthatisin
Edinburgh,GlasgowandLondon.
ThetermROYALwasaddedtoitin1692byKingWilliam3
andafterthatin1890QueenMary2ofEnglandchangesitto
ThekingandQueenscollegeofPhysiciansinIreland,the
presenttitletoitwascharterbyQueenVictoria.
MembershipisadministratedbytherulesoftheRoyalCollege
ofPhysiciansofIreland.Everyapplicantwishingtogetholdof
MembershipoftheRoyalCollegeofPhysiciansofIrelandmust
pass both parts of the Membership Examination, if not
exemptionhasbeengrantedandbepresentataMembership
ConferringCeremonywheretheyareconferredasaMemberof

theRoyalCollegeofPhysiciansofIreland.Membershipawards
therighttousethepostostensibleMRCPI.

FellowshipisgrantedbytheCollegeuponrecommendationby
existingFellowsoruponsuggestionbyexistingFellowsofother
branchesCollegestodoctorsofconsultantorcounterpartstatus.
