IN THE WORLD

Born in Edmonton Alberta July 21 1911.


Died Toronto Ontario December 31 1980.
He excelled at the university of Manitoba and completed a
doctorate in English at Cambridge in 1942. (age 31)
His book gained him a wide following ,but few Canadians
and only a hand full of dedicated scholars in other places
have actually read any of them.

The medium is the message was an underwhelming simple


suggestion but it was an appealing one.
That culture was being ambushed by ever improving
commination technology creating a global village had
common sense appeal.
McLuhan is kind of an anti hero, in a world renewing itself
with dizzying speed where he saw one big picture although
no one could say with out certainty
