Dear Education/Outreach Director:
My name is Rori Carlin. I am an eigth grade student at Del Mar Middle School. I am writing
to you because I am passionate about animals. When I was in first grade, did a summer camp
at the Marin Humane Society, where we learned about animals, played with the animals and
did volunteer work, and I absolutely loved it. Ever since, I have loved helping animals and
have visiting your shelter many times. I am writing to you to compliment your work,
illustrate the impacts that The Marin Humane Society has on our community and offer a
suggestion to improve your organization.
I would like to congratulate you on your outstanding work in animal rights and helping
animals. You have helped many animals find homes where they are loved, and helped make a
difference in many people and animals lives. I would also like to congratulate you on your
support of animal welfare bills. Everything that you have done to help animals has made a
tremendous effect on many people and animals lives.
The Marin Humane society has really made an impact in our community. You have rescued
many pets and changed the lives of many families and pets. Also, you have helped deal with
animal abuse and offered a hotline for those who see or suspect animal abuse. Additionally,
you have made an impact in animal rights and animal welfare in our community.
A suggestion that I have for the Marin Humane Society is to allow more opportunities for
kids and teens to volunteer. Many kids and teens enjoy animals and like playing with and
caring for animals, so a weekend volunteer opportunity is a good idea.
In order to support the Marin Humane Society, I plan to donate money. When I was younger,
some of my friends and I had a lemonade stand, and we were successful in raising over $100,
so I plan to have another bake sale. Also, if you open up the volunteer opportunities to kids
and teens, then I will definitely come and help at the Marin Humane Society.
