REGISTRATION AND OPERATION OF CONSTRUCTION COMPANY

The talks was presented by Mr. Ahmad bin Abdullah as titled registration and operation of
Construction Company. He is an assistant senior manager at CIDB Pahang. He has an experience
in CIDB for 18 years after he resigned from Ahmad Zaki Resources Berhad (AZRB) on 1994.
According to his lecture, Construction Industry Development Board Malaysia (CIDB) is a
government agency established under the Ministry of work Malaysia through the Construction
Industry Development Board Act on 1994 (Act 520). Before CIDB is established, the contractor
have to register their company under Contractor Services Center (PKK).
After that, System One Registration of Contractor (SSPK) is implemented to inform the
absorption and adjustment of contractor registration method through the implementation of a
registration system for contractor existing valid their registration with Contractor Service Centre
(PKK). SSPK is introduces 3 types of certificated which are Perakuan Pendaftar Kontraktor, Sijil
Perolehan Kerja Kerajaan (SPKK) and sijil taraf bumiputera (STB).
The function CIDB and PKK before SSPK is different after SSPK is implemented.
Before SSPK, registration of contractor under CIDB is for certificate of registration and under
PKK is for contractor license and Sijil Taraf Bumi. After the SSPK, the registration of contractor
under CIDB is for Perakuan Pendaftar Kontraktor (PPK) and Sijil Perolehan Kerja Kerajaan
(SPKK) and PKK is function for registration Sijil Taraf Bumi only.
For the conclusion, the countries construction industry will advanced if the law and
regulation of act CIDB 520 is follow by all parties. CIDB is also can make the registration of
contractor company is easier.
