Important: Wash your
hands before starting!

Honey Whole Wheat Pioneer Bread

Ingredients:
2 cups of bread flour | 1 cup of multigrain flour |
1.5 tsp of salt | 2 tbsp of granulated sugar
2 tbsp of active dry yeast | 1.5 cups of warm water |
2 tsp of honey | 1 tsp of vegetable oil
parchment paper | mixing bowls
Directions:
1. In a mixing bowl, add warm water, yeast, and
honey.
2. Gently stir mixture with spoon.
3. Set it aside for 10 minutes. Yeast will now start
to foam.
4. Meanwhile, measure and add dry ingredients
(sugar, salt, bread flour, and multigrain flour).
5. Stir mixture with spoon until it all forms
together.
Note: You may need to add a bit more flour or water to
get desired consistency (as demonstrated by Mrs.
Woodworth)
6. Take mixture out of bowl and place on
parchment paper.
7. Put vegetable oil in bowl. Use your hands to
coat oil around the inside of bowl.
8. Put dough back inside bowl and slide it around
(oil will now coat the dough)
9. Cover bowl (with dough mixture inside) with a
paper towel. Let sit for 1 to 1.5 hours.
10. When dough has doubled in size it has to rise
again for 40 minutes
11. Put dough on baking sheet, and bake for 25
minutes.
12. Remove from oven and cool for hour.

Butter-in-a-Jar
Ingredients:
1/3 cup whipping cream | mason jar |
2 pinches of salt | small bowl
Directions:
1. Fill mason jar 1/3 full with whipping
cream
2. Put lid on tightly and SHAKE!
3. And SHAKE!
4. And SHAKE some more!
5. You will notice the cream start to
become heavier and thicker, and soon
the buttermilk will separate from the
butter. This can take anywhere from
a few minutes to a half-hour
6. You will start to see pieces of butter
separate from the buttermilk.
7. Pour some of the buttermilk into a
small bowl (to use for pancakes or
other baking!)
8. Place butter into bowl 1/3 filled with
water
9. Use two wooden spatulas to press
butter into a solid mass. You can also
do this by hand with a kneading
motion.
10. Once you have kneaded the water out
of the butter, you can salt it to your
liking (2 pinches).
Now, spread on a slice of honey
whole wheat pioneer bread and enjoy
this amazing treat!
