Ms. Dos Santos was a student teacher under my supervision throughout this past school year, 2014-2015, Iwas very impressed with Ms. Dos Santos. She immediately was willing to become involved in the classroom. She carefully watched her site teacher and followed ber expectations. It was fun to watch Ms. Dos Santos begin to take over different content lessons. She became skilled at using the Smart board for language arts and being able to keep her first graders focused and engaged in the lesson. I saw Ms. Dos Santos use multiple strategies to create developmentally appropriate learning experiences for the students. She was always asking engaging question to help them think deeply about what they were learning, Ms. Dos Santos was able to create lesson plans that were based on the core and yet create opportunities for students to generate original work. She could also design assessments so that she could easily tell what student were learning and which students she needed to give more support to. Her lessons also incorporated language development which was very important in first grade. She worked well with her site teacher and the other team members. She was involved in their meetings and was an active learner. She was always amazed at all the things she was learning about herself and the teaching profession. Ms. Dos Santos will be an excellent teacher. She thinks deeply about her work, is always very reflective about what she is doing and what is working and what is not working.
