‘To Whom It May Concern:
'tis my pleasure to recommend Miss Stephanie Bohn for any teaching position that she may pursue as she begins
her career in elementary education. Miss Bohn served as a student teacher in my third grade classroom at Cumru
Elementary School in the Governor Mifflin Schaol District in the spring of 2015,
Miss Bohn’s passion for teaching was evident from her first day in the classroom. The students enjoyed having
Miss Bohn in the classroom and respected her as a classroom teacher. Miss Bohn took the students’ interests and
abilities into account when planning her lessons and also took the time to communicate with parents through
weekly newsletters informing them about what students were learning in class.
‘Miss Bohn was responsible for planning lessons for all subject areas. Her lessons were well planned and were
aligned with district curriculum and state standards. Miss Bohn developed a social studies unit on heroes from the
past that included hands on activities and allowed students to use technology in their learning, Students made
booklets about famous heroes, watched videos about them, listened to music from various time periods, and used
iPads to read electronic books to learn more about the people they were studying. Including these elements in her
lessons kept students interested and excited about what they were learning each day.
During her time at Cumru Elementary, Miss Bohn attended a workshop on Close Reading Strategies. She promptly
began implementing these strategies into her Differentiated Reading Groups. She provided students with the
opportunity to read a text multiple times, asked questions that allowed students to develop a deeper
Understanding of the text, and guided them in responding to open ended questions. Miss Bohn developed
‘materials for students to use that allowed them to practice skills taught during whole group instruction and taught
students to annotate while reading to better understand what they reed.
| highly recommend Miss Stephanie Bohn for an elementary teaching position. She would be an asset to any
School. Please feel free to contact me for any further information.
Sincerely,
