SUMMARY OF ACTIVITIES: The committee was informed that some Bicycle Task Force Items are moving forward ahead of schedule. These include the construction of bike compounds, efforts to clarify where bike paths are, sidewalk improvements, and improved bike storage. The resigning of campus streets is complete with the possible exception of the intersection of Carson Drive and State University Drive. There will be some ADA upgrades between Capistrano Hall and Parking Structure I. There will be some spot repairs of campus road surfaces in June. The refurbishment of the Daily Permit machines is on hold until funding is available. A decision has been made to install a crosswalk in front of the stairs leading up the levee near Sequoia Hall. In order to mitigate traffic impact, the crosswalk near Shasta Hall may be removed. This new crosswalk is expected to cost $20,000. There will be efforts to improve awareness of the yield sign and markings along State University Drive going towards J Street at the Esplande.
