Snipping Tool

This very handy feature should be one of the first tools you permanently pin to your
Task Bar so it can be accessed easily no matter what program you have open on
your desktop.
From time-to-time the need arises when you want to copy and print a portion of what
is displayed on the screen. It may be a picture, a logo, or a section of text on a web
site, an error message that has appeared or a section of another document. The
Print Screen feature will only print the full screen and does not work on all occasions.
Copy and Paste can sometimes be used but you may need to tinker with the fonts
and layout. The Snipping Tool comes in handy on these occasions as it allows you
to copy the selection exactly as it appears on the screen.
The snipping tool can be found in the Accessories folder on your computer. If you
forget where it is, use the search box feature in the Start Menu.
1. Left Click on the Start Orb
2. Commence typing Snipping tool into the search box
3. You probably will only have to type a few letters before the Snipping Tool
appears at the top of the list
4. Click on Snipping Tool to open the feature
5. The screen image will become grey
6. The mouse pointer now turns to cross hairs +
7. Use the cross hairs to drag around the area you want to capture
8. Open Word or where-ever you want to insert the capture
9. Right click where you want to insert the capture
10. Left click on Paste.
