Dear Yvonne,
We would like to thank you for volunteering your services at our recent Waianae KEDS event on August
14, 2014 at the Waianae Recreation Center from 8:30am to 1 pm. We were able to screen participants
for CKD and your efforts to run our various stations were outstanding. Our free kidney screenings are
very valuable to the non-insured and under-insured people in our community and with your help; we
were able to provide this critical service.
The National Kidney Foundation of Hawaii (NKFH) is the states leading voluntary health agency
dedicated to the detection, prevention, and treatment of kidney and urinary tract diseases. The NKFH
along with more than 350 committed volunteers, bring help and hope to the more than 156,000 Hawaii
residents suffering from Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) and the more than 100,000 Hawaii residents at
risk for developing CKD. The NKFH offers a wide variety of programs from free kidney screenings, public
and professional education classes, support groups, emergency financial assistance, research and organ
donation programs
We recognize your community-minded spirit and look forward to you joining us again at one of our
kidney screenings and to help promote kidney disease awareness and prevention. We appreciate all
your hard work!
Once again, Mahalo Nui Loa for volunteering your time and please feel free to contact us at the National
Kidney Foundation of Hawaii for future opportunities.
Sincerely,

ALICIA DEVOLL | Early Intervention Coordinator
