Contraindicated

amiodarone + cisapride
amiodarone and cisapride both increase QTc interval. Never use combination.

Serious - Use Alternative

amiodarone + ondansetron
amiodarone and ondansetron both increase QTc interval. Possible serious or lifethreatening interaction. Monitor closely. Use alternatives if available. Avoid with
congenital long QT syndrome; ECG monitoring recommended with concomitant
medications that prolong QT interval, electrolyte abnormalities, CHF, or
bradyarrhythmias.

cisapride + ondansetron
cisapride and ondansetron both increase QTc interval. Possible serious or lifethreatening interaction. Monitor closely. Use alternatives if available. Avoid with
congenital long QT syndrome; ECG monitoring recommended with concomitant
medications that prolong QT interval, electrolyte abnormalities, CHF, or
bradyarrhythmias.

Significant - Monitor Closely

amiodarone + loperamide
amiodarone will increase the level or effect of loperamide by P-glycoprotein (MDR1)
efflux transporter. Significant interaction possible, monitor closely.

aluminum hydroxide + lactulose

aluminum hydroxide decreases effects of lactulose by pharmacodynamic antagonism.
Significant interaction possible, monitor closely.

amiodarone + ranitidine
amiodarone will increase the level or effect of ranitidine by P-glycoprotein (MDR1)
efflux transporter. Significant interaction possible, monitor closely.

Minor

sucralfate + aluminum hydroxide

sucralfate increases levels of aluminum hydroxide by pharmacodynamic synergism.
Minor or non-significant interaction. Additive aluminum content.

sucralfate + lansoprazole
sucralfate decreases levels of lansoprazole by inhibition of GI absorption. Applies
only to oral form of both agents. Minor or non-significant interaction. Separate by 30
minutes.

omeprazole + chlordiazepoxide
omeprazole increases levels of chlordiazepoxide by decreasing metabolism. Minor or
non-significant interaction.

esomeprazole + chlordiazepoxide
esomeprazole will increase the level or effect of chlordiazepoxide by decreasing
metabolism. Minor or non-significant interaction.
