This video was our main

influence for music video. Our
main narrative came from this
music video, which is about
Emeli Sandes friend being
diagnosed with Illness. Through
the music video we see constant
memories of them when they
were little to how they are now.
The narrative links in very much
to ours. Both of our videos link in
well with Goodwins theory of
there being a clear relationship
between the visuals and lyrics.



This was also another music
video that influenced us in our
research stages. The narrative of
this music video is quite
depressing, as its about
someone leaving the person
there with, to be with his or her
real lover. Most of Sam Smiths
songs are mostly about personal
issues; he is also part of the
singer-songwriter genre.
Therefore it was important to
look at his music videos.

We did use this for our music

video in the very beginning stages.
We wanted to use the part where
Beyonc sings in the funfair to
symbolise the past memories of
our artist and her friend when
they were younger. Our audience
didnt really understand the
connection between the funfair
and friends so we ended up
changing this completely.
