Miss Fem completed six weeks of hr student teaching with me in 4” grade math at Abingdon Elementary. I was impressed with Bailey from the start and she fit right in from the very first day. [As soon as Miss Fem entered my classroom she was ready and willing to do anything I asked of her. She ‘observed to get a feel-for my teaching style; to-learn the-schedule and basic procedures; and theri jumped right in. She familiarized herself with the 4* grade math SOLs, the essential knowledge, and learned daily about the students’ different learning styles. She made her own assessments, study guides, and found resources to implement and enhance lessons. Bailey paced her direct instruction well and could easily pick up on student cues. She would watch for understanding but could also gauge when additional time and practice was needed. Miss Fern used a variety of teaching techniques which included partner work, group work, centers, and wall stations. This allowed for many diverse learning situations that got the students out of their desks, up and moving around the classroom, and not just doing, but talking about math. Bailey asked often for feedback on lessons and would take any suggestions given. She has great initiative ‘and carries tasks out efficiently. She is neat, organized, and punctual. Miss Fern fit in seamlessly with cour 4" grade team as well as with the rest of our faculty. Not only did Miss Fem handle herself well in the classroom, she also attended weekly leadership meetings, IEP meetings, sat in on phone conferences, parent meetings, and made a phone call to a parent just to let her know how well her son had been doing. Bailey always conducted herself professionally and with our students’ best interest in mind. She took the time to really get to know our students and invest in them and that meant more to me than any lesson plan she could have written It makes me smile to write this letter of recormmendation for someone that was 50 easy and fun to work 1 with. Bailey would be a wonderful addition to any school staff.
