The RomanianU.S. Fulbright Commission announces the competition for the Summer 2015 Study of the U.S.
InstitutesforEuropeanStudentLeaders,afiveweekacademicprogramforyoungpeoplepursuingpostsecondary
education. The Institutes are an allexpense paid program, including program administration; domestic travel and
groundtransportation;book,cultural,mailingandincidentalallowances;andhousingandsubsistence.Participants
willbeenrolledinASPE,theBureau'sAccidentSicknessProgramforExchanges.

EligibleFields:EnvironmentalStewardshipandSocialEntrepreneurship.

Grantduration:5weeks,summerof2015.

Applicantsmustmeetthefollowingcriteria:

haveRomaniancitizenshipandstudyinRomania;
beproficientinEnglish;
beinterestedintheInstitutetopic;
bebetween18and25yearsofage;
have at least one semester left of their undergraduate
studies, and therefore be committed to return to their
homeuniversitiesfollowingcompletionoftheprogram;
demonstratestrongleadershipqualitiesandpotentialintheiruniversityandcommunityactivities;
indicateaseriousinterestinlearningabouttheUnitedStates;
have a sustained high level of academic achievement, as indicated by grades, awards, and teacher
recommendations;
demonstratecommitmenttocommunityandextracurricularuniversityactivities;
havelittleornopriorstudyortravelexperienceintheUnitedStatesorelsewhereoutsideoftheirhome
country;
bemature,responsible,independent,confident,openminded,tolerant,thoughtful,andinquisitive;
be willing and able to fully participate in an intensive academic program, community service, and
educationaltravel;
be comfortable with campus life, prepared to share living accommodations, and able to make
adjustmentstoculturalandsocialpracticesdifferentfromthoseoftheirhomecountry;
bepreparedtosubmitareporttotheFulbrightCommissionontheprogramexperience.
