Kyle Kingsburg (aka Adrian aka boy in

the book) had only one motivation and

that was to become a normal boy like
he used to be. He states, I stared into
the mirror I was an animal-not quite
wolf or bear or gorilla or dog but some
horrible species (pg. 47) This quote
shows his perspective on his look and
how horrible he looks. It also kind of
shows how disgusted he feels about
him in that beast body.
Kyle was a popular kid at his school but
he was also mean and vile, he would
bully the as he called them the
unpopular kids. A witch noticed this
and put a curse on him which made
him and ugly beast. What are you
looking at ugly? I expected her to cry
then, it was fun to kick the nerds and
make them cry then kick them some
more, (pg.208) he states. This quote
shows how mean he is and rude to
another person and how he enjoys
bullying people. I have transformed
you to your truer selfI was a beast.
(pg.40) This quote shows Kyle being
transformed into a beast, which to turn
back to his original self his true love
would have to kiss him.
Kyles changes into a beast after a witch
curses him for being to mean to teach
him a lesson. Kyle states, Fangs grew
from my mouth, my fingers were
clawed, and hair grew from every pore.
(pg. 47) This quote shows him as a
now ugly beast.

Knowing already that Kyle is known at

school as a popular but mean person a
everyone has different views on him.
His friends states, Guess he thought
he was too good for us, huhWouldnt
surprise meHe always thought he
was so big when he was here-Mr. MyFather-Reads-the-News. (pg.118)
They think that he was stuck up and
acted like such a pain.
