:Objective
To become familiar with the measurement and interpretation of
total dissolved suspended and volatile solids
Introduction:
This test we give information for water and hardness on water and
give haw calculate weight for sample and fixed and volatile.
Apparatus:
1. porcelain dish 100 ml
2. capacity 25 ml
3. drying oven
4. glass fiber filter dish
5. aluminum evaporating dish

Result & calculate:

TS:
Empty dish = 47.91g
Dish + sample = 48.574g
Dish +sample after during 550= 47.928g

Ts = 48.574- 47.91
= 0.664/50 = 0.0133
Tfs = 47.928- 47.91
= 0.018/50 = 0.00036
Tvs = 0.0133- 0.00036
= 0.01294/ 50 = 0.0002588
TDS:
Empty dish = 46.12g
Dish + sample = 46.733g
Dish +sample after during 550= 46.1299g

Ds = 46.733- 46.12
= 0.613/50 = 0.01226
Dfs = 46.1299- 46.12
= 0.0099/50 = 0.000198
Dvs = 0.01226- 0.000198
= 0.012062/50= 0.00024124

TSS:
Dish + filter = 46.12+0,0004 = 46.1204g
Dish + sample + filter = 46.7836g
Dish +sample + filter after during 550= 46.5+ 0.001 = 46.501g

Ss = 46.7836- 46.1204
= 0.6632/50 = 0.013264
Sfs = 46.501- 46.1204
= 0.3806/50 = 0.007612
Svs = 0.013264- 0.007612
= 0.005652/50= 0.00011204

Discussion:
Error:
1. Make sure the weight of all dish and filter is correct when
take other weight I mean error weight the test is failure.
2. When drop liquids on flask make sure the filter is down.
3. When drop the sample on drying make sure the temperature
is not more then 105.
Conclusion:
The different between all sample the weight on TS, TSS, and TDS
And the volatile on all sample is same not same exactly but a little;
same.
