My best piece is a response to literature/ literary analysis essay I used on one of my
unit tests. I received an exemplary score and showed that I am performing well in class.
In order to complete this assignment, I made an outline to organize my thoughts and
used the Academic Essay Organizer for my essay structure. I used Microsoft word to create
the essay.
I chose my literary analysis as my work sample because it showed my ability to
analyze and compare a fictional setting to something that could be possible present day. The
essay also received an exemplary grade and certainly deserves a place as one of my best
essays. Within the essay the reader should find the answer to the prompt: "Is our society
going further or closer to the society that Orwell depicts in 1984?" I hope that the reader is
given the impression that I have benefited from some parts of English class and that I
understand how to analyze literature and reality. After completing the assignment I learned
that my writing methods are satisfactory and that I need to check my work for spelling errors
because I found some errors after checking the work recently. With the knowledge of how to
write an essay, I could persuade or explain a cause in great detail.
