This action research is done to improve the memory of the special education pupils in

Mathematics by using realia. The objective of this action research is to improve the
memory of the special education pupils who have the short term memory. The analysis of
the problem shows that students can only recall the lessons taught by the teacher for a day
or less. This research was carried out by using methods like observation, interview and
pre and post tests. The outcome of this research shows that the pupilss memory would be
better if the teacher give chances to the pupils to interact with the realia prepared by the
teacher. The respondents of this research are the pupils with learning disability who are
suffering with down syndrome. This project is entirely to open up opportunity to the
special education pupils to explore the teaching aids and to relate them with the real
situation based on the lessons taught by the teacher. The analysis outcome shows that
these pupils managed to recall the lessons learned by interacting with the realia.
However, this research can be more harmonised by adding on some games using this
realia.
