What should students learn as a result of this unit?

This unit introduces basic conversation, sentence writing and greetings in formal writing in a
second language Spanish. Students will learn about different greeting types, formalities,
sentences structure and most importantly globally communicate with other students learning
about not only Spanish but other students culture and daily life.

Stage 2Evidence
What evidence will show that students have met the Stage 1 goals?

Students will be assessed through blog posting of their sample letters (through mano a mano GLP
website- http://manoamanoglp.weebly.com). Rubrics to teachers who are participating in the
global project will grade on format of letter, proper spelling, greetings and student reflection.

Stage 3Learning Plan


What key learning events will help students reach the goals and be successful on the
assessments?

-learn internet etiquette to participate in GLP


-watch tutorial on why internet etiquette is important
-watch tutorials on how to write a letter and spanish
-learn basic letter writing formatting (dating, greetings (formal and informal))
-review spanish sentence fundamentals and structure
-Learn about technology norms of communication through using blogs (tumblr)
-Collaborate/communicate with other students using writing in Spanish
-Submit final draft of letter on website blog
