ABSTRACT
Patients with urinary tract stones increased day by day. Urinary stone formation can
cause by protein diet, dehydration, occupation, and metabolic disorders. Diabetes mellitus as
one as metabolic disorders and the incident is increasing. The purpose of this study was to
determine the relationship with the occurrence of diabetes mellitus in patients with urinary
tract stones in RSUD dr. Zainoel Abidin Banda Aceh. The research method is analytical
oservasional with cross sectional approach. During the study period 96 samples obtained
last study conducted and the data was analyzed by chi square. Based on the analysis of data
obtained an association of diabetes mellitus with the occurrence of urinary tract stones with
p-value = 0.001 (p <0.05) and RR 1.95 (95% -CI: 1.39 to 2.75). It means that diabetes
mellitus is a risk factor for urinary stone, the people who have a history of diabetes mellitus
1,95 times more likely to have urinary stone than those who do not have a history of diabetes
mellitus.
