Dear Sir or Madam:
‘Those who have spent enough years in education know that teachers, great teachers, the kind of teachers
‘who inspire kids to love leaming, are bom and not made, Debra Krzesowiak is one of those “bom to be” teachers.
Poston Butte High School and our students are better because of what she has brought to our school, and I know that
‘will be true for the next school where she works.
Debra came to Poston Butte High School as 3 first year teacher in 2012; she moved to Arizona from
Minnesota not knowing anyone or the area. She came because of her passion for teaching. Since her first day on our
‘campus Debra Krzesowiak has demonstrated her dedication and commitment to professionalism when working with
students and adults. She fosters relationships with students who struggle in school end finds ways to give them a
safe place to be at any moment of the day. Debra is able to navigate staff changes and challenges with
professionalism and consistent collaboration. She is always willing to share lessons and resources and takes the time
to support new teachers, Debra Krzesowiak is a model to all her colleagues.
In the classroom, Debra continually demonstrates a tireless passion for her students’ success and learning.
She gemuincly cares about the success of every one of her students: she encourages them to be reflective and take
personal responsibility for their learning. Debra never shies away from contacting home at the slightest sign of
student struggling or # grade dropping: she is flexible and expects students to do the work. Deb spends most of bet
lunch periods in the classroom tutoring students who need extra support. Debra’s dedication and value for education
inspires her students to work harder and be intrinsicelly motivated about their own success.
‘Debra designs her lessons to meet the needs of all her students and employs a variety of instructional
techniques that make every student comfortable in the learning environment, For example, I have had the pleasure of
evaluating Deb while teaching a World History class. Deb kept the students engaged and active, while executing all
the critical elements of instruction with mastery: lesson pacing and structure, formative assessment, critical
‘questioning skills, student reflection and revision and excellent presentation of instructional content. Her lessons are
‘well organized and interesting; she incorporates and appropriately selects lessons using cooperative learning, small
and large group activities, and both individual and group instruction. Debra fosters active learning by encouraging
her students to formulate their own opinions and evaluate other student performances.
Finally, it i important to recognize Debra’s inherently natural classroom management style. Debra
understands that solid classroom management hinges on a few key factors: student-teacher rapport, solid, student-
centered lesson planning and individual accountability. Debra’s lessons demonstrate an increasing awareness of
‘these elements. Disruptions are handled swifly, fairly and consistently, and Debra is constantly reflecting on her
teaching to make adjustments throughout the day and for future planning, Debra consistently sets the same high
standards for herself.
Itis without any hesitation that I recommend Debra Kreesovviak for any teaching position at your school,
She is an extremely well qualified, passionate, dedicated history teacher whom I am lucky to know and we are all
lucky, io have in our profession
