Artifact #2: School Improvement Plan: Professional Development Proposal (TE807)

This artifact is a detailed professional development proposal that I submitted to my building principal. I
submitted this professional development proposal in an effort to improve the knowledge and instruction of the
teachers in the building in which I work. I put this proposal together as a part of a culminating project I
completed for TE807.
The purpose of this artifact was to share my experiences with differentiated instruction with my colleagues in an
effort to improve their instruction. This artifact is significant because it encapsulates much of what I consider to
be good or effective teaching. This artifact is also connected to my MATC Professional Essay artifact as much
of the information contained in that essay is a central part of the professional development proposal.
This artifact represents my efforts to be a leader in my school building. This artifact helps illustrate the central
theme of my TE872 course, which focuses on teacher learning and what effective teacher learning practices
encompass. This artifact also highlights some of the barriers that prevent effective teacher learning from taking
place in our public schools.
