Easter Sunday
God Calls Us
To Worship
The Call to Worship
~ based on Colossians 2:3 &
Revelation 5:12 ~
Leader: We gather this morning to
celebrate the resurrection of Jesus
Christ from the dead. For us, and for
our salvation, He lived, and died and
rose again from the grave. Now are
gathered in Him all the treasures of
wisdom and knowledge, glory and
power. He is the King of kings and
Lord of lords, and is worthy of all
praise. Therefore, with all the saints
and martyrs of all the ages, we say
Unison: Worthy is the Lamb, who
was slain, to receive power and wealth
and wisdom and strength and honour
and glory and praise!
Prayer of Adoration
Leader: Christ is risen!
Unison: Christ is risen, indeed!
bridge
All creation sang: Hallelujah
The King is risen
Glory to the name of our risen Lord
Let all the earth proclaim: Hallelujah
Our sin's forgiven
Glory to Your name forevermore
(repeat chorus)
ending
We have power over the grave
Christ the Lord is risen today
God Graciously
Renews Us In
Christ
Call to Repentance & Renewal
~ from Isaiah 30:15, 18 (NIV) ~
Leader: In the ancient book of Isaiah we
read, In repentance and rest is your
salvation, in quietness and trust is your
strength The Lord longs to be
gracious to you; He rises to show you
compassion. For the Lord is a God of
justice. Blessed are all who wait for
Him.
Prayer of Confession
Leader: Almighty God, in raising Jesus
from the grave, You shattered the power
of sin and death. Yet we confess that we
often remain captive to doubt and fear,
bound by the ways that lead to death.
You have raised Jesus from the grave and
crowned Him the King of the universe.
Yet we confess that we have not always
lived in light of this truth, and have been
reluctant to acknowledge His lordship in
every area of our lives. All we like sheep
have gone astray; we have turned every
one to his or her own way. In mercy,
Lord, hear our prayers, as we confess our
sins to You
~ Silent confession & reflection ~
Unison: Create in us clean hearts, O
God, and renew a right spirit within us.
Cast us not away from Your presence,
and take not Your Holy Spirit from us.
Song of Response
Christ Is Risen
Let no one caught in sin remain
Inside the lie of inward shame
We fix our eyes upon the cross
And run to him who showed great love
And bled for us / Freely you bled, for us
chorus
Christ is risen from the dead
Trampling over death by death
Come awake, come awake
Come and rise up from the grave
Christ is risen from the dead
We are one with him again
Come awake, come awake
Come and rise up from the grave
Beneath the weight of all our sin
You bow to none but heavens will
No scheme of hell, no scoffer's crown
No burden great can hold you down
In strength you reign
Forever let your church proclaim
(repeat chorus)
bridge
Oh death! Where is your sting
Oh hell! Where is your victory
Oh Church! Come stand in the light
The glory of God has defeated the night
God Receives
Our Offerings
God Gives Us
His Words
of Eternal Life
chorus
Hallelujah! What a Saviour
Hallelujah! What a Friend
Saving, helping, keeping, loving
He is with me to the end
chorus
Hallelujah, hallelujah
The King of Love is on His throne
Hallelujah, hallelujah
His grace will lead us safely home
(repeat chorus)
Jesus! What a Help in sorrow
While the billows oer me roll
Even when my heart is breaking
He, my Comfort, helps my soul
(repeat chorus)
Jesus! What a Guide and Keeper
While the tempest still is high
Storms about me, night oer takes me
He, my Pilot hears my cry
(repeat chorus)
Jesus! I do now receive Him
More than all in Him I find
He hath granted me forgiveness
I am His, and He is mine

Announcements
Today Is Easter Sunday!
Today we leave the season of Lent behind and we join Christians around the world
in celebrating the resurrection of Jesus which guarantees our own.
The Benediction
~ 2 Corinthians 13:13 ~
Leader: The grace of the Lord Jesus
Christ and the love of God and the
fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you
all.
Unison: Amen
On the first Sunday of every month, we celebrate a meal together after the service.
These are intentional times of meeting new friends and catching up with old friends.
We want to be intentional in seeking to build relationships and our monthly potluck
luncheons are a perfect opportunity to do so. Please bring food for yourself / your
family plus extra to share with our guests.
Please be in continual prayer for the elders of the church as they attend to the
ministry of shepherding the flock. If you have any prayer requests that you would
like the elders to be praying for, please email the clerk of the Session, Elder Don
Kitchener, at don@newcitychurch.ca.
