When Eddie dies, he revisits five people from his life, each with a different meaning, message, and importance. Eddie travels back in time and visits many places from his past. With each encounter, Eddie realizes something new about himself, his relationships, and his purpose in life. As you read this novel, think about what Eddie learns from each person that he meets in heaven, no matter how small or big of a role they played in his life. Addi ional Thoughts/Overall Reaction to the Novel T thought it was interesting how the book ended. Originally, I didn’t know how the author was going to finish the book and show Eddie's overall lesson. I liked how he met the little git] in the fire and he reconciled with her in sorts when he washed her of all the bun marks and seats. But if you mean chapters 11-14, Eddie found out that Marguerite was his fourth person, took a tour through a bunch of weddings, and leamed that love is forever, even old love, however gross it may be. He also had the wonderful experience of learning that he was responsible for the death of a five-year-old girl, just to brighten his day after he found out that he was also in part responsible for the death of his wife. I ove this heaven! Then there was a mushy part where Eddie found out that his life had purpose and he was atoning for sin and all that happy stuff.
