Professional Practice Experience

The professional practice experience was the most enlightening experience of my entire
HIM experience. Even though I have worked in medical records for decades, I had little idea
what the other duties entailed until now. Spending the days with each of these sections within
medical records and performing hands-on work gave me a fuller picture of the department as a
whole, and how each duty is an important integral component. I am very grateful for the
opportunity to share in this knowledge.
