Dear Prospective Employer,
{hope you will seriously consider Emily Bredberg’s application for your schoo! librarian
In our district, Emily is one of our rock stars. For many years, her schoo! had no librarian, and although
the clerk worked hard to provide a library collection and program, the school struggled to keep up with
‘current best teacher-lbrarian practices and calletion development. Emily has truly revolutionized the
program at Lakeside Elementary School in Coppel, TX, energized the collection with new materials
while deselecting old out-of-date titles, and modeled for the principal and educators there about what
2 great school library program should look ke. Through her efforts, the Lakeside library has become
an active, collaborative, learning space, where learners are avid readers and creators, and educators
‘regularly seek Emily's expertise to help them plan and teach. Her Makerspace has become one of the
‘most popular areas ofthe library, and learners look forward to her annual library sleepover.
In our small district, our Hbrarians share and collaborate with each other constantly, We meet monthly,
and Emily is 2 frequent presenter about technology innovations, library initiatives, and best practices.
{As part of TWU's Librarian's Choice book committee, Emily shares the newest and best titles in
children’s literature with all of us, to.
Emily is active in our state and national library associations. She was recently awarded the Penguin
‘Young Readers Stipend to attend the 2015 American Library Association Annual Conference. During
my tenure as the Children’s Round Table Chair ofthe Texas Library Association, Emily supported me by
planning and hosting the annual Texas Bluebonnet Award luncheon ~ 3,000 attendees. She is.
passionate about our profession and looks for opportunities to be involved and share what she learns.
Ifyou choose Emily Bredbery as your new scl Hvar, you will quicly id thal he willbe a
valuable faculty member, and leader in your school. In Coppell SD, she willbe greatly missed, (But |
plan on stil collaborating with her from far away!)
